The Brand
No, not a play on the big orange supermarket with a similar name, Snugburys have been a Cheshire institution for over 30 years, serving up some of the finest ice cream you’ll find in the North-West of England. Run by three sisters, having taken the reigns from their parents, this family-run business has seen a steady growth over the years, from selling ice cream at their kitchen window to converting a barn, found on a pretty cobbled courtyard on their family farm – they now attract over 300,000 customers a year with their 55 mouth-watering ice cream flavours.
The Task
As a business, Snugburys are proud of their dedication to minimising their impact on the environment, prompting them to invest in a purpose-built ice cream dairy in 2018, boasting 364 solar panels, which help to supply the energy needed to run the factory in the busy summer months. In line with this, Snugburys were looking to consolidate their branded packaging with more sustainable solutions, with the main aim being to eradicate plastic completely. On top of this, their existing suppliers had been unreliable, with long lead times - so we were able to swoop in and save the day… in exchange for ice cream.
The Outcome
In order to help hit their sustainability goals, we supplied Snugburys with our compostable ice cream cup range, which are 100% plastic-free and lined with a water-based coating. We even ensured that the outer-packaging and the sleeves they arrived in were plastic free, made from recyclable paper.
To top this off, we also helped the client adapt their existing artwork to our templates, ensuring consistency across all of their products.
The result? We delivered 150,000 eco-friendly and plastic-free branded ice cream and coffee cups within the 5-week lead time promised, each telling a story about the brands origin, the great ingredients they use and their environmental impact.
